The best part of Ramm On Records, at least for me, is how many women, girls, and couples I am seeing in the store. It is proof positive that the boys club has been infiltrated for quite some time. It makes me so happy! Trax on Wax, my favorite record store (yes, still), was the first store where I saw the glass wall had come down. Gary is an awesome guy and gets that anyone can love vinyl as a format. Actually, I have always thought Gary saw this as a no brainer, which is even more awesome.. Trax was the first record store I had ever been to that didn't feel like a boys club. It is a place where people who love records can buy records. That simple and yet so much more. I hope Ramm On Records is that place, too. David and I love seeing couples who enjoy records together. We love seeing the kids and teenagers who use their allowance to buy records and really know the music, grandmothers buying Led Zeppelin IV for their grandchild, an 81 year old who treasures finding an album they loved as a kid. We love seeing a guy excited to finally find a DC Star picture disc, a grade school boy helping his mom find an album from the budget bin, a tween girl bonding with her dad over The Eagles, people pulled in by the music and reminiscing about listening parties "back in my day." We just love seeing people enjoying our store (ok, flea market stall) and finding the music they love. www.traxonwaxrecords.com www.northpointplazafleamarket.com Below is a sneak peek at our new arrivals, edited from the full list.
