Well... we kind of neglected our blog over the last few months. Our only excuse is that we have been so busy with running the store and living our lives. We promise to update our blog more frequently from here on out!
The store has undergone several small but significant changes since November. We changed the rack organization, expanded our new arrival, new release, and 45 sections, added new products, and more. In November we started carrying the Spin Clean Record Washer system and accessories. December took us into a new phase, as we started selling on Discogs. Then in February, we became an authorized Ortofon retailer.
It has been exciting to see the store evolve and to hear customer feedback and suggestions. Without you, our customer, we wouldn't be here. It is humbling and gratifying to see friendly faces weekend after weekend. It is exciting to see new faces, too! So far we have had customers from throughout Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, and California. We even had a gentleman stop by who was visiting from Germany!
In 11 weeks, Ramm On Records will be ONE YEAR OLD. Its hard to believe. Time has flown by. As we approach that milestone, keep an eye out for special sales and maybe even a contest or giveaway. We are so stoked for our birthday that we will surely end up giving away a gift or two!

Thank you to all of those who came by the stall last weekend. We had a record breaking weekend and were able to make a larger than hoped for donation to Hurricane Harvey relief. After careful research and consideration, we decided to donate to the Houston Food Bank. While small in the scheme of things, this donation will provide 225 meals to individuals directly impacted by this disaster.
We will be praying with the rest of the nation that Hurricane Irma will somehow change course, or at least that the devastation will be much less than projected. Ramm On Records will continue to set aside a portion of our profits to aid in Hurricane relief.
This weekend we will donate at least 10% of our profits to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief. If we hit our sales target, we will donate 20%. Please consider taking this unique opportunity to support a small business and a worthwhile cause!
Donations will be made to non-profits providing direct assistance to the areas impacted. Proof of donation will be posted online.
Trivia: Jaime has family ties to southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana. Both her maternal grandparents are from Texas and she still has relatives living throughout the area impacted by Hurricane Harvey. She also has friends who live in and around Houston. She is happy to report that everyone is safe and sound.

The best part of Ramm On Records, at least for me, is how many women, girls, and couples I am seeing in the store. It is proof positive that the boys club has been infiltrated for quite some time. It makes me so happy!
Trax on Wax, my favorite record store (yes, still), was the first store where I saw the glass wall had come down. Gary is an awesome guy and gets that anyone can love vinyl as a format. Actually, I have always thought Gary saw this as a no brainer, which is even more awesome.. Trax was the first record store I had ever been to that didn't feel like a boys club. It is a place where people who love records can buy records. That simple and yet so much more.
I hope Ramm On Records is that place, too. David and I love seeing couples who enjoy records together. We love seeing the kids and teenagers who use their allowance to buy records and really know the music, grandmothers buying Led Zeppelin IV for their grandchild, an 81 year old who treasures finding an album they loved as a kid. We love seeing a guy excited to finally find a DC Star picture disc, a grade school boy helping his mom find an album from the budget bin, a tween girl bonding with her dad over The Eagles, people pulled in by the music and reminiscing about listening parties "back in my day."
We just love seeing people enjoying our store (ok, flea market stall) and finding the music they love.
